What to expect when we work in your home
- Preparing the room
- Clear what you can, or move furniture to the middle. We cover floors, skirting and anything left in the room, and mask sockets and switches.
- Disruption
- Plastering is wet work and there will be some dust. We keep it contained to the room we’re working in and tidy up at the end of each job.
- The existing surface
- Sound plaster can usually be skimmed. Hollow, cracked or damp plaster needs repairing or replacing first. We’ll tell you honestly which it is.
- Choosing a finish
- Most rooms just need a smooth, paint-ready skim. If you want something decorative, we’ll talk through the Venetian options and show samples.
- Drying and decorating
- Drying time depends on thickness, weather and ventilation, so there’s no single answer. Allow the surface to dry fully, then follow the paint supplier’s specified first coat and finish.
