Commercial · Venetian Plastering
Venetian plaster for commercial interiors
Venetian plaster gives reception walls, bars, restaurants and showrooms a layered, marble-like surface with real depth. We work with designers and fit-out teams to sample, agree and apply the effect, planned into the fit-out programme.

When it’s the right choice
- Reception and lobby feature walls
- Restaurants, bars and hotels
- Retail and showroom interiors
- Boardrooms and executive offices
Effects and choices
- Marble-style depth
- Layered, burnished coats with movement and veining.
- Subtle movement
- A calmer finish for larger areas where a strong pattern would dominate.
- Colour matching
- Tinted to the design palette and approved by sample.
- Protection
- Sealers or waxes as suitable for the product and setting.
What the work involves
- 1
Design brief
We review the designer’s intent, areas and lighting.
- 2
Sample approval
Samples are produced for sign-off before work starts.
- 3
Preparation
Substrates are made flat and sound; this often happens earlier in the programme.
- 4
Application
Coats are applied and finished, with protection until handover.

Things to know
- What we call Venetian
- Venetian describes the layered, marble-style techniques worked in thin coats and burnished. Send a sample or reference and we’ll confirm what’s achievable.
- High-traffic areas
- Durability and cleaning depend on the product and sealer. Tell us how the space will be used.
- Sequencing
- Decorative finishes go on late, after dusty trades, and need protecting.
- What affects the price
- Area and quantities, specification, access and working hours, programme and phasing, and how much of the work needs to be done around other trades.
- Agree the product, not just the look
- Venetian finishes vary in composition, texture and sheen. A reference photograph helps establish the look, but the actual product, background preparation and protective finish determine suitability and care. Samples should be viewed in the lighting where the finish will be used.
Questions about venetian plastering
We’ll produce samples to get as close as possible and agree them before starting. Hand-applied finishes always vary slightly.
Ask us about your projectWith the right product and sealer it suits many commercial settings. We’ll be clear about limits.
Ask us about your projectIt depends on area and effect, as several coats are needed. We’ll programme it with you.
Ask us about your projectPossibly, with working hours and protection agreed.
Ask us about your projectThe decorative layers are thin and will not straighten a poor background. Loose material and cracks need dealing with, and the wall may need levelling or skimming before the specified primer and decorative coats are applied.
Ask us about your projectPreparation, access, the wall area, selected product, number of layers and desired effect all affect the quote. Include a photo of the wall, dimensions and a reference for the finish. Complex shapes and high-level work also change the amount of work involved.
